Sometimes people ask me: ‚Are you a doctor for crazy people?‘ I reply ‚No‘, ‘ I’m a doctor for normal people … but often people who come to me find themselves in crazy situations and circumstances‘. Most clients understand and agree that people don’t usually set out to feel bad or act in harmful or hurtful ways. Rather, problematic behavior is often an emergency solution or response, which seems better than not reacting at all. I see myself (therapeutically) as a lawyer who advocates for all my clients, particularly for their needs; I advocate for both my child clients and their parents.
